You already have some climbing experience but would like to refine your techniques and try your hand at multi-pitch routes? This course is designed for you!

To master multi-pitch routes, in addition to belaying techniques, you will practise extensively the placement and use of mobile protection devices. Setting up belay stations using standard pitons and nuts, as well as simple exercises in emergency mountain rescue, are also part of this course. The history of climbing in the Dolomites and the resulting code of ethics will run like a thread through these three action-packed days.

You’ll also receive tips on how to take your climbing to the next level. The maximum group size of 6 people guarantees a high standard for this course.

Camping at our mountain hut in the Upper Puster Valley is ideal for this, as there are a wide variety of climbing opportunities in the immediate vicinity.

Programme:

Day 1:
Arrival in Val Pusteria. Meeting point at 9:00 a.m. at Monguelfo-Tesido train station, followed by carpooling. At the crag, the most important rope techniques and current belaying methods will be reviewed. In the late afternoon, we will pitch the tents and have dinner together at the mountain hut.

Day 3:
Route planning, navigation and climbing a multi-pitch route independently are the main focus of the day. We will head home in the late afternoon.
