If you love climbing outdoors and are looking for a way to travel in a positive way and minimize your impact while doing what you love, this Alpine Campus is for you.

The Alpine Campus is organized by Eline Le Menestrel and Simon Kreutz from the Salewa People team, following the approach of their last project “Upossible”. What if adventures start the moment we step out our door at home? What if an alpine climbing trip also includes the journey to the mountains?

This course looks at the beauty of getting to a climbing crag by fair means. You’ll learn how to pack your bike for a weekend climbing trip, how to plan your route, what an Ecopoint is and how it can positively contribute to your climbing by connecting you with the outdoors. Like a thread running through three jam-packed days, we’ll look at the possibilities that this new approach brings in terms of redefining outdoor sports in the face of environmental challenges. With the inspiration and knowledge Eline and Simon have to offer, this course is guaranteed to bring you hope, optimism and effective tools to help make this world a better place.

Program:
Prior to the event: We will arrange an online meeting for 7 August to get to know each other and answer any initial questions you might have.

Day 1: Arrival in Pustertal/Val Pusteria – preferably by bike or public transport. Meet at 8.00 am at the GLOBO ALPIN offices in Toblach/ Dobbiaco. If required bicycles (e-bikes) can be rented directly from their offices (at your own expense).* From here, we will cycle to our camp.

Eline and Simon will give a presentation about their bike & climb trip “Upossible” in the evening and share the lessons they learnt and offer plenty of inspiration.

Day 2: Bike to the local crag in the morning and climb together. In the evening, there will be a workshop about “Connecting to the outdoors”. After dinner, we’ll sit round the campfire to spend time together and share stories.

Day 3: Spend the morning at the crag and head home in the afternoon.

Public transport is available in the event of poor weather conditions. The registration deadline is 3 weeks prior to the event.

* E-bike hire is €120 for 3 days (reduced rate). Please let us know when you register if you will require a bike. We will also need your height measurements to reserve a bike.
