Tour Weekend on the Hohe Gaisl - Croda Rossa

This week is ideal for ski tourers who prefer a relaxed pace and enjoy moving at their own pace. The programme is designed for experienced ski tourers who want to take their time to enjoy beautiful ascents, quiet summit moments and relaxing hours back at the hotel.

We will explore the winter landscapes of the Sexten Dolomites, the tranquil Villgraten Valley and the gateway to the Lesachtal. These regions offer stunning scenery and a sense of remoteness, providing ideal conditions for relaxed ski touring away from the crowds. Daily stages typically involve 500–800 metres of ascent — enough to keep you active without being demanding. Where it makes sense, we ease the ascents with lift assistance.

We stay at the traditional, family-run Hotel Eggele in Hochpustertal, a place renowned for its warm atmosphere, superb South Tyrolean cuisine and small yet elegant wellness area. Here, achieving a balance between activity and relaxation comes naturally.

x Ascent pace: 200–250 metres of vertical ascent per hour. Ski touring experience required.
Ascents of up to 800 metres (2–4 hours). Short, steep sections may be encountered during ascent and
descent. Kick turns are not mandatory, though individual kick turns may be required. You must be able to
perform confident parallel turns on piste or stable snowplough turns in all snow conditions.
