Those who think that snow-covered peaks in winter are only accessible to ski tourers are mistaken. With sufficient fitness for five to seven hours of hiking and under the guidance of a professional mountain guide, it is possible to reach beautiful and remote summits in the Dolomites on snowshoes.

The entire area lies within the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park and is renowned for its expansive terrain and straightforward peaks, providing ideal conditions for snowshoeing. And the views of the Dolomites are simply breathtaking. The comfortable and centrally located Senneshütte offers showers and luggage transport to the hut.

The variety of possible summit destinations enables the mountain guide to select the most suitable tours depending on the conditions and the ability of the group.

This tour of the Sennes plateau is particularly well-suited to experienced summer hikers looking to try snowshoeing. It is also perfect for those with some initial experience, offering enjoyable tours in gentle, open terrain. The routes require good basic fitness, with walking times of up to seven hours and around 800 metres of ascent and descent.

Participants arriving by train will be picked up at Toblach station and can borrow rental equipment free of charge.

Note: New Year's Special – 'Point of No Return'

In mountaineering, the 'point of no return' is the moment when going forward is the only way to reach the summit. For organisational reasons, some tours cannot be cancelled in the event of poor snow conditions (e.g. if flights have already been booked or accommodation has been confirmed). In such cases, the programme will still take place and we will adapt creatively to ensure an enjoyable and memorable experience, even without snow.
