This is a slightly different take on the classic Dolomites ski traverse. The classic route is undoubtedly a beautiful and impressive tour. However, the central section now passes through an area that has become heavily developed with ski lifts. This is precisely what we aim to avoid with this programme. Most stages therefore follow lesser-known and less frequented touring routes.

Our traverse begins at Passo Staulanza, nestled between the towering peaks of Civetta and Monte Pelmo. From there, we continue through the Ampezzo Dolomites, across the Fanes group and into the Braies (Pragser) Dolomites. We will finish at the northernmost edge of the Dolomites in Olang (Val Pusteria). This already shows that several stages of this traverse have been specially designed for this programme, which is evident from the careful planning and consideration that has gone into it.

Just like on the classic Dolomites traverse, you'll be staying in mountain and ski huts that are located in stunning spots. These well-run alpine lodges offer all the comforts you could want. With daily elevation gains of around 1,100–1,200 metres, the physical demands remain moderate.
