When the weather is cold in the Dolomites and Brenta in spring and autumn, the Sarca Valley becomes our favourite place to play. The mild, Mediterranean climate of Lake Garda creates ideal conditions for climbers, mountain bikers, surfers and via ferrata enthusiasts alike. With 15 different via ferratas in the immediate vicinity — ranging from short to long, easy to difficult, historic to new and beautiful to even more beautiful — there is a wide selection of rewarding routes.
The sun, gelato, pizza, compact limestone, great views, and the favourable weather and location on the northern shore of the lake and in the Sarca Valley all contribute to a pleasant holiday feeling.
Our wonderful agriturismo ensures that our mountain day begins pleasantly with a rich breakfast buffet. In the evenings, we enjoy Trentino and Mediterranean dishes in various trattorias around the lake.
Program Overview:
The meeting point is in Dro at 13:00 on the arrival day. In the afternoon, we will do a short via ferrata as an introduction. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we will undertake three exciting via ferratas, adapted to the weather and interests of the participants. We depart on Sunday after the tour. It is easily possible to travel with the Globo bus from Franzensfeste or by public transport.
Possible routes include:
- The short Castell Drena via ferrata through the Torrente Rio Salagoni gorge as a warm-up
- The Sentiero dei Contrabbandieri, a "somewhat different via ferrata", high above the cliffs of Lake Garda.
- Via Ferrata Signora delle Acque
... and many more.
