An exciting guided alpine weekend in a spectacular mountain setting: At 3,905 m, Ortler is the highest peak in South Tyrol. In good weather, it offers magnificent views of the Dolomites, the Presanella, the Bernina and the Ötztal Alps. In addition to ascending Ortler, a highlight of the week is climbing Cevedale, which stands at 3,769 m. If we are lucky, we may also catch sight of Reinhold Messner’s Tibetan yaks grazing near Madritsch. Perched prominently on the Tabarett ridge at 3,029 m, the Payerhütte offers superb views of the surrounding mountains.

Program overview:

Day 1: Take the cable car up and traverse into the Martell Valley via the Madritschjoch to the Martell Hut (approx. 5–6 hours; 900 metres up), where you will spend the night.
